Your Role

As an University Partnership Manager, you will be at the forefront of expanding our reach in the Higher Education sector in our top-priority Americas market. With a 'business owner' mindset, you’ll connect with universities, secure high-impact partnerships, and drive deals ranging from $20k to $500k+. You’ll independently manage sales, create compelling packages, and strategically showcase the benefits of partnering with us.
Your role will be crucial in shaping our market presence and scaling our operations over the next three years, contributing to the ongoing success of our mission-driven company.
What You’ll Be Doing
Building and managing a robust sales pipeline with deals ranging from $20k to $500k+.
Identifying, prospecting, and securing partnerships with new university clients across North, Central, and South America, focusing on both well-known institutions and emerging educational entities.
Developing and executing innovative sales strategies to rapidly expand our market presence over the next three years.
Achieving and surpassing sales targets and KPIs, contributing to both your financial success and the overall growth of VI.

Your Attributes
You are action oriented. Better to make a reversible bad decision than no decision at all
You are able to work with CRMs, budgets, targets, and KPIs. You are comfortable providing regular progress reports to senior leadership, are motivated by targets and KPIs and you understand the need for reporting compliance

You become a brand ambassador with knowledge and understanding of our mission and products - and be able to communicate that to your partners (and the world)
You are passionate about Education and Career Development for the young generation
Your Experience
Experience in a client-facing, revenue-driving, or partnership-focused role; prior Account Executive or sales experience is preferred but not required for candidates who demonstrate strong commercial instincts and a track record of ownership and results
Strong understanding of the higher education landscape across the Americas is highly valued, particularly experience working with universities, workforce development organizations, or education providers
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, evolving early-stage environment. You are comfortable with the ambiguity that comes with a startup environment, and you are excited by the idea of working with a global team across 25+ countries
Collaboration with cross-functional teams (Partnerships, Growth Marketing, and Operational teams) to work effectively in a remote and asynchronous environment
Building relationships should come easy to you – and you’ll love connecting with people
Willingness to travel - domestically and possibly internationally as needed. Given the current environment, you also bring an instinct of knowing when meetings should take place virtually versus in person
Legally able to work in home country without sponsorship
You stand out from the crowd if you have:
Success as an Account Executive within an early stage start-up, ideally in the EdTech sector
Experience with, and the stamina for, long-cycle sales. You particularly understand how to drive against ambitious timelines and targets while also balancing the needs and realities of individual target client constraints

Remote-First: All roles at VI are currently and will remain remote - flexibility to work from anywhere.
Flexible Working Hours: Start earlier, leave earlier, take a shorter lunch, or leave later, it's totally up to you.
Annual Leave: Wherever you are in the world, you’ll get 25 days of paid annual leave per year, plus bank holidays and 5 sick days.
Life Event Leave: There are moments in life where your life responsibility is a higher priority than work (e.g. moving house, your best friend getting married, your sister having a baby) therefore, you’ll get 5 days of paid life-event leave to support these occasions. You also get a day off on your birthday. This is in addition to your Annual Leave.
Flexible VIer Budget: You’ll receive a flexible budget of $1,000 per year that you can use on but not limited to your work setup, personal wellness, or professional development.
Tech: New joiners receive a budget for their laptop depending on the role.
