Your Role

At Virtual Internships, Placement Matching Specialists (PMS) are at the heart of what we do: connecting students from around the world with real, career-building remote internships.

This Expression of Interest is ideally for early-career people who want to learn fast, take ownership, and be stretched in the right way. The PMS role is a proven launchpad at VI: a high-learning, high-support environment where many people build their core skills before growing into other teams across the company within ~1-1.5 years.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Placement Matching Specialist, you’ll join our fast-moving Placements Team and take ownership of matching interns with global host companies across industries and time zones.

You’ll work hands-on with real placements, real stakeholders, and real outcomes — learning how to communicate clearly, influence decisions, and manage complexity at pace. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Matching interns with suitable host companies and securing placement opportunities

• Leading conversations with companies to present candidates and guide decisions

• Following up consistently to keep placements moving and overcome delays

• Managing multiple placements at once while staying organised and focused

• Keeping systems and admin up to date so every placement runs smoothly

• You’ll never be left to figure things out alone — but you will be trusted to own your work and grow quickly.

Who We’re Looking For

Your Attributes

• You take responsibility and follow things through

• You’re curious, coachable, and eager to improve

• You stay calm when things move fast and priorities shift

• You communicate clearly and confidently in English

• You’re excited by learning, growth, and meaningful work

Your Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in sales, recruitment, customer-facing, or similar fast-paced roles

• Experience working remotely or with global teams is a plus

• Fresh graduates or career switchers with strong written communication and drive are welcome

• Remote-First: All roles at VI are currently and will remain remote - flexibility to work from anywhere.

• Flexible Working Hours: Start earlier, leave earlier, take a shorter lunch, or leave later, it's totally up to you.

• Annual Leave: Wherever you are in the world, you’ll get 25 days of paid annual leave per year, plus bank holidays and 5 sick days.

• Life Event Leave: There are moments in life where your life responsibility is a higher priority than work (e.g. moving house, your best friend getting married, your sister having a baby) therefore, you’ll get 5 days of paid life-event leave to support these occasions. You also get a day off on your birthday. This is in addition to your Annual Leave.

• Flexible VIer Budget: You’ll receive a flexible budget of $1,000 per year that you can use on but not limited to your work setup, personal wellness, or professional development.

• Tech: New joiners receive either a Windows or Mac company laptop depending on the role.
